In recognition of International Guitar Month (it’s an actual thing), please join the Jacksonville Historical Society on April 14 for our Speaker Series program on the history of the guitar in 20th Century Jacksonville. The guitar matters, because over the past century-plus, this city has been home to and produced a tsunami of great guitar players.
Jacksonville musician Eddy Cotton will perform and discuss selected guitar music out of which Jacksonville’s music culture has evolved and grown. Cotton is a well-known Jacksonville guitar performer, songwriter, band leader, music educator and history advocate.
Jacksonville Historical Society Members: Free, RSVP to communications@jaxhistory.org; Non-Members: $15, purchase in advance.
