The Soul of Jacksonville — Exhibit at City Hall
June 11 - December 31
In celebration of Jacksonville’s Bicentennial, the Jacksonville History Consortium is hosting an exhibit at Jacksonville City Hall. The exhibit tips its hat at the formative years of the City of Jacksonville, from its formation as a town with the name Jacksonville in 1822 to just before World War II. Looking through the lens of Jacksonville’s population concentrations in its earliest years, and its historic neighborhoods that came to be as the city grew, the exhibit weaves a story of Jacksonville’s vital force, or soul, that animated the city.
